Sulphur was important in several fields: military, tanning, wool’s disinfection and many other activities. Nevertheless, the largest quantity of sulphur was used in agriculture, particularly in viticulture as it was used to combat fungal diseases especially in wine production areas. Sicily, and in particular the area surrounding Agrigento, was the main site of sulphur extraction. This built strong relationships with Rome and other agricultural centres in the Mediterranean Sea. An over-the-distance wireless battery charger based on RF energy harvesting

An RF powered receiver silicon IC (integrated circuit) for RF energy harvesting is presented as wireless battery charger. This includes an RF-to-DC energy converter specifically designed with a sensitivity of -18.8 dBm and an energy conversion efficiency of ∼45% at 900 MHz with a transmitting power of 0.5 W in free space. Experimental results concerned with remotely battery charging using a complete prototype working in realistic scenarios will be shown.

Ecosystem Architecture Management in the Public Sector : From Problems to Solutions

Based on our research concerning enterprise architecture (EA) in the Finnish public sector, we discuss how EA concept and tool need to be developed to support government business ecosystem and organization design. Our research context indicates, beyond a federal government or a state one, that even a single municipality, like a city concern, can be perceived as an ecosystem of its sectoral domains, subsidiaries and such. The uncertainties brought by intermittent renewable generation and uncoordinated charging behaviors of EVs pose great challenges to the reliable operation of power systems, which motivates us to explore the integration of robust optimization with energy scheduling in V2G networks. Promocijas darbā ir izstrādāts konfigurators plaša profila DSML rīku definēšanai. Konfigurators balstās uz ideju, ka DSML definīciju var uzdot ar universālu metamodeli (UML klašu diagrammas formā), kura pēc tam konfiguratorā tiek apstrādāta, lai nodrošinātu rīka darbību. Turklāt nestandarta gadījumiem, kad esošās metamodeļa iespējas ir nepietiekošas, metamodelī ir realizēts paplašinājuma punktu mehānisms, kas ļauj pievienot rīkam specifiski transformāciju valodā noprogrammētu funkcionalitāti. Izstrādātais konfigurators ir pārbaudīts vairākos praktiskos lietojumos un apliecinājis savu efektivitāti.
